Squirrels is the youngest and newest section in scouting and are young people aged 4 and 5 years old.
Girls and boys can join Squirrel Scouts from their fourth birthday and can move up to Beaver section up to a couple of months before or on their 6th birthday, dependent on when the Leader team agrees they are ready. Squirrels vibrant red sweatshirts distinguish them from the older sections. But like all sections, Squirrels will be aiming to fill their arms with fun award badges! At an age when young people are asking "Why?" and are filled with wonder, Squirrels get to meet new people, experience new activities, new things, play games and get outside. They meet together once a week as a "Squirrel Drey" where they take their first steps into being part of Scouts, aswell as getting ready for the adventure of school too. Each one hour sessions will be packed with activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life. #skillsforlife. |
